IMPORTANT ENGINE NOTES
PLEASE READ:

If for any reason you are not sure as to what you are doing, which includes how a problem occurred, and have you cured it, be wise and stop work.  Contact WCBR concerning problem, and arrange for work to be performed.
After a complete season (10-races plus), we suggest the engine be overhauled.  This is where we strip and inspect the engine 100%, replace all bearings and reshim.  Clean sludge trap in crankshaft.  Replace piston/rings, bore cylinder if needed, and perform a complete valve job, renewing parts as needed.
The con-rod & big-end bearing assy are replaced every other season for maximum performance and reliability.

The "Break-In" period for any WCBR-Ducati single is very short, this due mainly to the wide use of ball bearings throughout the engine.  However, you will have to be concerned with Piston/Rings, plus Camshaft/Rockerarm Break-In, as they need some "scuffing" before racing use.
Before you rush off to start up your new WCBR-Ducati, please read through all information supplied with it, thus avoiding any possible confusion or mishap.

We hope you enjoy your Ducati as much as we've enjoyed racing ours.  If we can be of any help to you in your racing efforts, please feel free to contact WCBR any time.

BREAK-IN PROCEEDURE:

PRE-FLIGHT:
1) Check and fill/top-up Motor Oil.
Narrow Case: 2-Qt's (US), Castrol R4 5w5O or Castrol GP50w.
2) Check and fill/top-up-Fuel Tank.
Use ONLY high grade High-Octane Gasoline (Racing or Avgas).
3)  Check/Adjust Tire Pressures as required.
4)  Check and fill/top-up Fork Oil. (110cc per leg required).
5)  Make sure Batteries are charged 100%.
6)  Check/Adjust ALL cables/controls (Throttle Clutch, Brakes).

1) "Tickle" or "Choke" carb as needed.
2) Engage FIRST gear, Pull machine backwards until engine stops you, you’re now on the "intake stroke"
    - which will allow you to "bump-start" the engine.  Switch ON Ignition system, Pull-in Clutch lever
and Start Pushing (some speed will be needed); release clutch at the same moment your weight is
put on the seat Should Start.  If not, repeat steps 1 & 2. 3) Once Running, DO NOT REV HIGH,
let engine find it's own happy spot (it won't idle!) ... keep running engine up & down
     "on & off megaphone".
4) Warm motor oil up before moving onto racetrack.  Feel timing cover for heat.
5) Vary REV's & LOAD while on track, DO NOT Redline Engine.
NOTE: MAXIMUM "RPM" is 10,500 for 250cc and 8700 for 350cc.
